New Casting Rings

Today I picked up the new casting rings and can't wait to get started however I have some orders that need to get done first. Today was an absolutely beautiful day in Cape Breton so took the time to visit Laura Moore in her new shop in Bras D'Or. Laura is the owner of Finders Keepers and we have agreed to put some of my cast shells done from recycled glass in her shop. http://lamooredesigns.com/
Check out her website.

Some new pieces

I have been ignoring this blog and shouldn't be. So I will bring you up todate on some new pieces.

Janet has set up a ring for Cape Breton Artisans and apparently my blog on wordpress isn't going to link over so I will keep this one going as well as the other one.
This one is on the same site so will work fine.
These pieces are cast from recycled glass and will find themselves in a few shops on the Island as well as one in Mahone Bay.

Silver Dart

It's Sunday morning forgot the pictures

100 Years of Motorized Flight in Canada

Well last Sunday, my sister Lorraine and Aunt Ann made our way to Baddeck to witness the reenactment of the flight of the Silver Dart on Baddeck Bay. It was a beautiful sunny day and one day earlier than the actual flight day that was Feb 23, 1909. However par for our winter it was calling for our 11th major storm of the season on Monday and it didn't disappoint.
However Sunday made up for it. We stood on the frozen lake for approx 2.5 hours. The wind was strong and cold but we were dressed for it. The buzz and excitement was awesome and more amazing it flew. It was hard to get good pictures because as soon as I would get settled in a good spot a crowd would move and stand in front.
Dispite the cold and minor frustration in picture taking(it was so cold my Aunt's camera froze up)
